New Wells In Zimbabwe
We made it back from Zimbabwe on the 20th of October, 2022. This marks the 2nd trip we've made this year, the first being in April! We were there for 19 days this go-around and saw through the hand-over ceremonies of 2 new wells that we funded this year: one in the village of Chundu and the second in Chigede.
“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?...” Matthew 6:31
It's easy to worry about many things, but God has called us to have faith.
Fall Conferences and Crusade
While in Zimbabwe, Bill preached 40 messages over 2.5 weeks, speaking to many local pastors from several villages. It was a beautiful time, the sun was hot, and God moved in a great and mighty way. The message was about having faith and our calling to NOT worry.
Worrying is an assualt to God's character-- Let's call it what it is. God has called us to faith, and he will provide. He will sustain us until the day that he takes us home.
Looking Ahead
We left Zimbabwe with a few concerns (that we're NOT worrying about, haha, but need to address) and some plans for the future.
We had a solar water heater installed at the mission house. Consitent hot water has always been a problem but now, we worry no more!
We visited Kachichi while in Africa. If you stay up-to-date with us, we had installed a Borehole in this Village last year. Pastor Gripwell came to us with a concern about the color of the water. After testing, we found that there were heavy amounts of iron in the water. At this time, it can only be used for building materials and irrigation. We are working on solutions to address the issue.
Finally, just before October 2022, we started an GoFundMe and raised $2021 to help fund a new fresh water borehole at a Children's home in Magunje, Zimbabwe, (Magunje Children and The Disabled Welfare Trust). Through seperate donations we were able to raise the full $7000+ needed to install the borehole. This Well will be in memory of Bill's late mother, Barbara Dirkes. It will help provide FREE clean water for around 20 children and the surrounding village residents. With prep and permits/paperwork completed, we are aiming to break ground by the beginning of January.
